This is a great loss for the community on both sides of the families involved.

The victim shot over an unfortunate misunderstanding and a talented kid who had great potential athletically and personally. Not one wins and it is a sad loss. As a part time coach, I live in the area of Parkchester and this scenario is quite complicated more to it than it seems. This kid, Joe Roman, from what I hear and it is said, graduated from a catholic school with honors (Varsity basketball, Track and Field)) and a scholarship to an upstate college. He also played for the Bronx Rebels Intermediate Division Warner conference Football. After one year of college, he got caught up with the wrong crowd at the wrong place and the wrong time. It is so heartbreaking for the victim's family that has to go through this ordeal. No one should have to bury their son, daughter or any family member. At the same time, the family of this person Joe are also suffering after trying so hard to keep this kid on a straight line and end up screwing up his life like this.

Yeah, Joseph Roman, 23, was captured by Las Vegas police yesterday FOR the March 14, 2008 murder of Daniel Wallace, 19, in Parkchester.
