Greene has been acclaimed for composing and performing solo contrabass music since 1984 throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia. Formally, he was the bassist and musical director for Jimmy Scott and Cecil Taylor. The Boston Globe wrote "Greene can keep the listener interested - very interested."

St. Helena Catholic Church, 1315 Olmsted Avenue, will present "Some Holiday Season Music" by Jazz Bassist Hilliard Greene on Sunday, December 13 in the church. Hilliard will play at the 1:30 pm Mass and will then give a 45-60 minute performance following the Mass. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information, call 718-892-3232.
